How to use Airtable with AI

With CSV Getter, you can create a URL that can be plugged straight into GPT chat products like Perplexity to analyse the data using AI. Perplexity is an example of a ChatGPT style AI chatbot which can read URLs. An AI tool like Perplexity has access to the internet and this guide will show you how this feature can be used to get the chatbot to analyse live Airtable data. Follow the steps below to understand the process.

1. Log into CSV Getter.

2. Click on "Export Airtable".

3. Choose which Airtable bases CSV Getter can see and click on "Grant access".

4. Select a base, table and view which the AI will analyse.

By selecting a view, you can leverage Airtable's filters to control which data the AI sees.

5. Click on "Create".

6. Remove or reorder columns if needed.

7. Click "Export using URL".

8. Click on "Export Examples".

CSV Getter allows you to export in multiple data types simply by adding URL parameters.

9. Copy the HTML Table example.

This example URL has the parameter ?type=html_table attached. This parameter will make the URL into a webpage, ideal for an AI crawler.

10. Head over to perplexity and test the URL

We used the prompt "Analyse the data at this web address:" and then pasted the copied URL.

11. Perplexity was able to breakdown and analyse our data.

Optional extra step: Enable Auth if you ever want to lock your CSV Getter export URL through the requirement of an Authorization Bearer Token. You can also delete your Export URL at any time.
